About Us
This website started as a User Group about 3 years ago from a gentleman by the name of Cliff
Ruckstuhl who was looking for a few "H-28.5" drivers to discuss racing tactics with. Within a short time,
this group grew and so did the discussions. Other people heard of this group and logged in to discuss
maintenance problems, mast tuning, adding an extra battery and so on...

I read about the group on Hunterowners.com, shortly after I purchased my H-28.5 in 2003. Unlike the
other users, I didn't know anything about sailing, or sailboats. I purchased the boat out of hopes that my
wife and I could learn to sail, cruise and do our own maintenance.  I'm fortunate to purchase such a fine
boat and be able to meet a great bunch of guys who saved me truck loads of money. I learned two major
facts: Sailboats take a lot of work and Hunter 28.5s originally came with only one battery. I won't give my
opinion of cast iron keels.

Well, after several years, the user group grew to over a hundred interested drivers so growing pains
began to accrue. We decided that it was high-time to start our own website. Cliff had a lot on his plate,
already, so he didn't have a lot of time to run a website. I think this goes for many of the members who
either didn't have the technical computer knowledge, the time or money for this project. I decided "on a
whim" to at least build the site and give it a try. The process went well, I bought (or leased) a domain
name and found a great web host provider. I'm no artist, but I managed to put together some pictures
and somehow made the whole thing work.

Viola! We have our own website!

Websites are bit like sailboats, they need to be constantly cleaned, polished and looking good. One of
my responsibilities is to keep this site polished, cleaned and looking good. I'm constantly thinking about
things to add for inter-activeness, interest and a major resource for technical and non-technical issues.
You can help me by clicking on the guest book link below and letting me know what you would like from
this site. That is, anything relating to the Hunter 28.5 and/or sailing. Well...Once in a while a Super bowl
discussion doesn't hurt.

The costs and time to build and maintain a website can be expensive. A donation of $10 dollars per year
would be greatly appreciated. If you enjoy this website, or if you can get good information send me a
check for $10 dollars to: Stephen Prusinski 41146 Mountain Pride Drive, Murrieta, CA 92562. The
money will be used to offset the costs of operating and maintaining this website. This is a "Not-for-Profit"
website.

Thank You!
